Chen Jin's personal background and learning experiences drove her to formulate her MFA thesis project: to research selected elements of Traditional Chinese Opera and Ballet as the foundation of her choreographic investigation. The investigation process was guided with 2 questions:

1. What kind of elements of Traditional Chinese Opera and Ballet can be utilised in choreography?

2. How to utilise the elements of Traditional Chinese Opera and Ballet into the choreography?
